Swimming

A friend sent this most perfect poem.   It describes very well some feelings I have previously attempted to describe.

No Lifeguard on Duty

it is difficult
when one is drowning
to wave to the people
on shore

one wants to be
friendly, of course,

but perhaps it is
more important
to keep
swimming.

  2. I finally have caught up on your blogs since Oct. 30. So glad that you started Yoga again and the shopping therapy sounded good. Maybe we can have a day in Cannon Beach next week.

  4. Wow: Thank you so much for sharing this, Laura. This poem beautifully captures what I often tried and failed to articulate for so long after my cancer diagnoses. I believe it speaks to the far too many of us for whom cancer has entered our lives. A big hug to you, my wonderful cousin!
